This series represents an early, self-contained body of work centered on perception, attention, meaning-making, and in-camera optical phenomena. These concerns continue to inform my later bodies of work, including projection photography, through a sustained interest in dynamic transformation across a variety of surfaces.
The series offers a unique perspective on Central Park and its surrounding landmarks in Manhattan. Captured between 2007 and 2010, the images reveal surreal and impressionistic scenes formed entirely through natural reflections in the park’s lakes and ponds (and, in one case, from the windows of The Metropolitan Museum of Art). Each image records a fleeting visual event and is intended to be experienced at large scale, where its perceptual complexity fully emerges.
